Warcraft is a series of real time strategy games developed by blizzard Entertainment. The first of warcraft series, Warcraft 1 was released in 1994. The first of the real-time fantasy strategy game from Blizzard Entertainment quickly became a best seller. Warcraft has not only become a classic, winning many awards, and it has set new standards for multiplayer games.

The Warcraft 1 is known as Orcs and Humans. In this release playing either the Humans or the Orcs, two separate story lines evolve with 12 scenarios per side telling the tale of the battle for Azeroth in the kingdom of Azeroth. From swords to sorcery, all the elements of classic fantasy are here to explore rich forests, dark dungeons and bubbling swamps and await the stalwart troops amassed to fight for dominance. You can command many unique armies and creatures including Knights, Archers, Clerics, Warlocks, Daemons, Elementals, and The Dead. From 1998 onwards this game became quite famous in Maldives also.

The warcraft II (WC2): Tides of Darkness was released, in 1995 as a sequel to Orcs and Humans. The game is set six years after the fall of Azeroth from Warcraft: Orcs & Humans. The Orcs decided to conquer the lands for their empire, and the battles to follow. The WC2's campaigns last days, not hours in playtime, and continues to be one of the most challenging and well thought out for any RTS. Blizzard later created Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal as an expansion pack and released in 1996. In WC2 the Orcs were defeated by a coalition of humans, dwarves and elves known as the Alliance; the surviving combatants were herded into internment camps.

Then Warcraft 3: Reign of chaos was released on 2002 also as a sequel to Orcs and Humans. Warcraft III takes place in the fictional world of Azeroth. Several years before the events of the games, a demon army known as the Burning Legion intent on Azeroth's destruction corrupted a race called the Orcs, and sent them through a portal to attack Azeroth.

In 2003 Frozen throne was released as and expansion for the WC3 Reign of chaos. Frozen throne included four new campaigns, a new race and new units and heroes.
