THE HULHULE INT. AIRPORT
The Hulhule International Airport (often referred to as Male' International Airport) is the only International Airport in the Maldives. Another 4 Domestic Airports are located in the north, mid and southern regions of the country.
The International Airport is a separate island itself, located just 5-10 minute "dhoni" ride (the most common form of sea transport in Maldives) from the capital city.
Hulhule Island Hotel is the nearest hotel to the Airport and hence the best place to loosen up and relax for a day or even for few hours to ease jet lag.
Since the majority of the country consists of water, the most common forms of transport between the local islands, resorts and the capital city is by speed boats, traditional dhoni or sea planes.
The Climate - Being in the Monsoon belt of the Indian Ocean, temperature in Maldives is mostly between 25° to 30°C. For further details and information visit Maldives Weather Bureau.
