Like it or not, Maumoon will be the father of modern Maldives. Part of the development we see today was introduced during the last days of Pr.Nasir, but implemented by Pr.Maumoon, along with numerous other development. The failings of Pr.Maumoon were the inability of his administration to curb the drug usage and control corruption. Even with these failings, I would say that the development this nation has seen over his 30 year tenure will be appreciated by future generations and Pr.Maumoon will get his rightful place in our history.
